Accessibility in weniger
This page explains how weniger is designed to stay usable in the live web product and which mobile accessibility standards are being prepared while the apps are still in development.

Approach
weniger continues improving accessibility in the live web product. The practical focus is clear navigation, understandable copy, and reliable interaction patterns. Mobile apps are still in development and are not represented as released experiences here.
Web accessibility
The web frontend uses semantic landmarks, a skip link, visible focus states, consistent form labels, keyboard-friendly navigation, and shared focus management for overlays. Important content stays server-rendered and does not depend on hidden client-only state.
- Skip link directly to the main content.
- Visible focus styles for links, buttons, and form fields.
- Forms with linked labels and accessible error messages.
- Charts with a text summary and tabular alternative.
Mobile accessibility in development
The planned mobile apps will add labels, roles, hints, expanded states, and understandable status changes to core actions. Touch targets are intended to remain large enough, and shared bottom sheets and form controls are being designed with consistent accessibility semantics.
- Accessibility labels for buttons and inputs.
- Large touch targets for common actions.
- Relevant state changes are announced for screen readers.
- Charts with a persistent text summary and participant metrics list.
Keyboard, screen readers, and focus
Every important function should be visible, operable by keyboard or touch, and understandable when read aloud. Menus and overlays remain dismissible with Escape or clearly labeled controls and restore focus predictably afterwards.
Contrast, zoom, and reduced motion
weniger accounts for visible focus contrast, readable light and dark themes, stable layouts at larger text sizes and zoom levels, and reduced motion when the operating system requests it.
